w9mra repeaters

How do we survive!

Most hams take for granted, find a frequency, make contacts and move on. Our repeaters although are some of the best in the area, but do need work from time to time. MSRA has maintained our repeaters to the best of our ability to insure our local and visiting hams have the best experience. Just recently we had to replace an antenna and cable on the 79 repeater and thanks to membership and a few other donations we accomplished that with very little down time. That antenna is 300 feet up so you can imagine the cost of antenna, line and hiring the climbers to replace that equipment. I don't want to post exactly what the cost was but it was thousands of dollars. Thanks to our members and a few anonymous donors we accomplished the repair in a very short time. Being a ham you must realize that it is a very expensive hobby but reaps many benefits for the community. The local groups use that repeater for education, and SKYWARN service for Wood, Portage, Clark, Juneau and Adams county with excellent coverage! There are also weekly nets on 2 meter, GRMS net and FM38 coverage. We do this with member support and would appreciate any ham that would like to join. Our member dues is only $25 per year or $35 to cover the total household*. We meet once a year to elect officers and plans to expand our systems. If you would like to donate to support our group or join as a member please respond with the contact form and we will reply within 2 business days. Hope to hear from you,
